EquestriSafe – Be Prepared Before Emergencies Happen – Don’t Be Scared: Be Prepared
EquestriSafe is a U.S. – based equine safety company founded in 2010 by two friends who saw a need for better equine identification, useful during natural disaster and trail riding. Inspired by firsthand experiences with California wildfires, they created an innovative solution for horse identification, emergency preparedness, and equestrian visibility.
Our Story
When wildfires swept across California, the fear of losing our horses – or not being able to identify them in the chaos – sparked a powerful idea. How could emergency responders know who our horses belonged to? How would they contact us during a crisis? What if a horse became separated from its rider on a trail?
Born from necessity and fueled by empathy, EquestriSafe was born, and these horse owners became more passionate about protecting their own animals before, during and after emergencies, along with finding a better way to identify horses during these situations. Encouraged by a fellow horse owner using a homemade ID, we knew we could build a safe, more durable solution.
They developed the original Fetlock ID band – also known as the horse bracelet or anklet – which quickly gained popularity among trail riders, campers, and equestrian professionals. From customer feedback, this drove us to expand into equine ID collars, reflective wearable gear, and high-visibility trailer decals.
