Why do we think that identification for horses is only necessary during wild fires?  This is not true even close to the truth.  Watching devastating floods in California has been so heartbreaking; homes, business and yes livestock and horses being lost due to Mother Natures power. Horses stranded in flood flood waters or running loose or crushed as corral panels are carried away.

Even deep snow in the northern states can create a situation where horses can walk over fences.

So what precautions are you taking this winter to let people know that “the stray horse” is yours?
